The couple, who got married in July 2013, announced in January 2022 that they paid $76 million for a large beachfront land in Zurich, Switzerland.

At the time, Bach told the local Handelszeitung newspaper that he and Turner had decided to buy more properties in the European country after gaining Swiss citizenship. (Non-residents are not allowed to own land in Switzerland.)

“Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who left us his greatest work: his music. All our sincere sympathy goes to his family. Tina, we will miss you terribly.”

The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll had lived abroad for years before her death after starting her relationship with Bach in 1986. She even went so far as to renounce her US citizenship in 2013.

Turner chose to live abroad because he felt his music was more widely accepted there, along with his crush on his former music executive.

“I left America because my success was in another country and my boyfriend was in another country,” he told the late Larry King in 1997.

“Actually, Europe supported my music a lot.”

Still, Turner remained out of the limelight as she aged, and officially retired from the stage in 2009 after completing her 50th anniversary tour, one of the highest-grossing marches of all time.
