Robert De Niro candidly admitted that being a father at the age of 79 makes him have a “certain awareness.”
De Niro is the proud father to newborn Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro, with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen, and discussed how he’s enjoying fatherhood at this later stage in his life.
“It feels great. It feels great, yeah,” he said during an appearance on “Today.”

“I have certain awareness,” “The Godfather Part II” star confessed.
“When you’re older, you have awareness of certain things in life, dynamics. Everything, family dynamics. You can’t avoid learning certain things and then how you can deal with those, manage them and this and that.”
While De Niro welcomed his seventh child, he reacted to his former co-star and longtime friend Al Pacino expecting to become a father for the fourth time at the age of 83.

“Listen, Al Pacino just had a baby, I was told yesterday morning. He’s a few years older than me. God bless him. Very happy for him,” De Niro pointed out.
De Niro and Pacino both starred in several movies together, including “The Godfather Part II,” “The Irishman” and “Righteous Kill.”
As for setting up future playdates with Pacino’s youngest child, De Niro laughed and said, “Good question,” during an interview with Extra before adding, “Floor play.”

Looking ahead to Father’s Day, De Niro noted that he’ll be celebrating “just simply, with everyone.”
The “About My Father” star also quipped that he may have future children after his seventh child.
“I’m going to have a new one every year.”

De Niro has six other children with three different women. They are Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46, from his first marriage to Diahnne Abbott; twins, Julian and Aaron, 27, with ex Toukie Smith; and Elliot, 24, and Helen Grace, 11, from his second marriage to Grace Hightower. The former couple divorced in 2018.

Meanwhile, Pacino is expecting his first child with girlfriend Noor Alfallah, 29.
She was previously linked to Mick Jagger and billionaire Nicholas Berggruen. The actor, who turned 83 in April, has three kids: a daughter with his ex Jan Tarrant and twins with his ex, Beverly D’Angelo.
