But ultimately she had to be “selfish” because she could no longer afford her “restrictive” marriage to 46-year-old Blackstock.

The couple, who share their 9-year-old daughter, River Rose, and 7-year-old son, Remington “Remy” Alexander, were in a fierce divorce battle for nearly two years until they reached an agreement in March 2022.
Despite the turmoil of the separation, Clarkson said she is still hopeful that the parents of her children will one day be reunited.
“They’re really committed to keeping the dream alive that we can still be together one day,” she said, adding that she doesn’t want to get married again in the future.
“It’s not that I’m against marriage,” she explained. “I think marriage is good. I think it’s great.”

Clarkson said she “doesn’t have time for marriage” because she likes to be busy with work.
