Jude Law apparently stinks of stinky VIII in the upcoming movie “Firebrand.” He went to extreme lengths to play Henry.
At the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, the “Holiday” star revealed that she has created a pungent perfume that smells of “blood, excrement and sweat” to mark her last days with the late monarch’s sixth and last wife, Katherine Parr (played by Alicia). vikander
“I’ve read a few interesting stories about Henry being able to smell her from three rooms away. His leg was rotting so badly. He hid it with rose oil,” Law said at a press conference Monday (via Variety).
“I thought if I got a terrible smell it would have a big impact.”

Law, 50, found an expert to create a concoction that would properly capture the scent of the king during his days when he was suffering from a leg ulcer.
“It makes great scents and it also makes awful scents. He somehow found this extraordinary variety of blood, fecal matter, and sweat,” he explained, adding that he began to spray lightly before it turned into a “spray fest.”
According to the commercial publication, “Firebrand” director Karim Aïnouz nodded when he remembered Law’s fragrant scent permeating the entire production.
“When Jude got on set,” she said, “it was just horrible.”
Law, whose daughter Iris was seen at the festival, said that despite playing a crazy and cruel ruler, he and 34-year-old Vikander maintained a carefree friendship on set.
“It sounds really crooked because of course we did a lot of bad things to each other,” she said. “But as I recall, we were laughing a lot.”
“Firebrand” premiered at the Palais on Sunday.
The historical drama has been selected to compete for the Palme d’Or, the highest award given at Cannes.
