’03 Bonnie and Clyde make strong moves.
According to TMZ, Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z paid $200 million for their new home in California, making it the most expensive home ever sold in that state.
The 30,000-square-foot Malibu property was designed by Japanese master architect Tadao Ando, who also created the $57.3 million mansion that Kanye West bought during his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
The all-concrete house was previously owned by art collector William Bell and took 15 years to build, per outlet.
The “Crazy In Love” collaborators reportedly got a lot on the tightrope as it was originally listed for $295 million.
This investment is also reportedly the second most expensive real estate contract in the country, as a New York City apartment previously sold for $238 million.
Fans on social media had mixed reactions to Carters’ new acquisition. A few thought the purchase was “excessive”, and some called 41-year-old Beyoncé and 53-year-old Jay-Z “capitalists.”
“No one in a normal society should have this much wealth” tweeted a person.
“Who buys a house that is so expensive bro, it’s so useless that you can buy LOTS of land to save the world but you’d rather spend it on the pardon-king house…💀” wrote another.

But other fans defended the massive purchase of the musicians.
“Are some of you angry that they are spending their OWN money as they please??? Stop worrying about ab celebrities’ money and find your own job. It’s clear you’re all insanely unemployed” wrote a supporter of the couple
“Beyoncé now literally has her favorite number shaped house and the most expensive house ever sold. ICONIC 😭😭😭” another fan commented.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé have an extensive real estate portfolio.
According to TMZ, the couple who tied the knot in 2008 and shared three children bought a house in Bel-Air in 2017.
That same year, “Upgrade U” musicians dropped $26 million on a 12,000-square-foot mansion in the Hamptons.
