The two singers were spotted getting together at Tao Group Hospitality executive Jon Schwartz’s extravagant 40th birthday party at the Marquee, New York nightclub, after a romantic bond throughout the 2000s sparked rumors of reconciliation last month.
“They were always smiling at each other,” an insider specifically tells Page Six. “They were super cute.”
We said Ashanti was “having fun” as she watched some of Nelly’s hits for partygoers, including “Hot in Herre” and “Flap Your Wings,” performing on stage.
“She was really excited” for Ashanti, the source said, and shared that she was “singing”.
However, we heard that Nelly, 48, and Ashanti, 42, remained under the radar throughout the evening.
“They kept the PDA very cute and not heavy,” the source said.
However, a photo only obtained by Page Six shows the couple falling in love while staring lovingly into each other’s eyes as they dance, signaling that they can be more than just friends once again.
Other stars at Schwartz’s lavish banquet included The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, Pauly D, Brody Jenner, Chantel Jeffries, Giancarlo Stanton, PK Subban, Busta Rhymes and Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Guests are said to enjoy a private dinner at Tao Downtown before heading to an evening of dance at the Marquee.
“Don Julio 1942, a few bottles parade through all night,” the source added.
Last month, Nelly and Ashanti sparked love speculation when they were seen holding hands at a boxing match in Las Vegas. And last week, an insider told Entertainment Tonight that the couple is totally dating.
“Nelly and Ashanti are back together and they are both very happy,” the source said.
