Kate Beckinsale shares how “absolute legend” Keanu Reeves once helped hide a major wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
On Monday, the British actress posted a commemorative photo from the 46th Cannes Festival in 1993 that shows her on the red carpet with Reeves, 58, Denzel Washington and Robert Sean Leonard.
The Instagram picture shows the actors lining up to be photographed – but it doesn’t reveal how close Beckinsale, 49, came to an embarrassing accident.
“I bought the Body at the Sock Shop at the airport, and when I got in the car to go to the premiere with Denzel and Pauletta Washington, all the snaps on the crotch opened on their own and went up like a roller blind.” Beckinsale jokingly revealed it.
“I thought it was okay to drive around in my undercarriage while we were all in the back of the car, so I quietly panicked. I went out on the biggest red carpet of my life and whispered to Keanu and Robert Sean Leonard. What happened,” he continued. “In this picture I’m holding the front gusset down and two are holding the rear gusset.”
“Absolute legends who may not have fully understood the physics of what is happening, or even have heard the word ‘bracket’ before.” underground The star continued, “but they both jumped in to save me and asked no questions.”
Actress Naomi Watts called her friend’s story “Hysterical.”
“The usual ‘nothing to see here’ statements are incredible,” added one fan of the photo. “Well done!”
A third follower just wanted to praise Reeves. “Was Keanu Reeves as cool back then as he is now?”

Beckinsale was in Cannes for its premiere. Pot au Feu On Monday, when she gratefully avoided a wardrobe malfunction in a beautiful pastel green Zuhair Murad dress.
“I remember the first time I walked up these stairs at the Pot au Feu premiere, at the 76th Cannes Festival, in my dream dress – 30 years ago with the worn steel-nosed Dr Martens. They’re both magical,” she wrote in another post of today’s festive look.
