Matt Walsh, who starred in “Flamin’ Hot,” a comedy about the origins of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, doesn’t like spicy snacks.
“I’ve tried them,” he tells Page Six, but admits, “To be honest, they’re not to my liking.”
“I like a little spice in Mexican food, you know, I like a little spice in my Thai food and Chinese food,” she explains. “But I don’t want it in my snack foods because … I think because it requires you to drink a lot more. And I don’t want it, I want a snack. I just wanted some chips. I don’t have to have all this stuff ready to drink.
However, Walsh’s junk food snack is anything with “synthetic fake cheese” or caramel corn.
“This is probably an Achilles heel. I like a nice, solid crunch in my snack,” she tells us.
Directed by Eva Longoria, “Flamin’ Hot” is based on Richard Montañez’s memoir “A Boy, a Burrito and a Cookie: From Janitor to Executive”. The book claims that he and his wife invented the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Walsh, 58, plays Montañez’s ignorant boss.
“[He’s] He’s kind of a scumbag boss who just wants to maintain the status quo,” Walsh says. “And I think he took the position like a lot of guys because he was probably a white middle-aged man playing golf with some guys.

“You know, that’s typical height. He’s kind of stupid [and] probably barely qualified to get the job done. He always seems stressed.”
The “The Hangover” actor is a genius at playing the “barely qualified” role, as his turn as clumsy speechwriter Mike McLintock on “Veep.”
Walsh shares that he “definitely learned a lot more about politics and its subtleties by doing the show because we have to interview real politicians every year,” who will give him insight into what his work really entails.
He says the show, which ended in 2019, was “prophetic” as the writers made fun of issues still raised today, such as “abortion, gun control, immigration…incredibly untimely”.
“I think it’s a bit depressing,” he admits, “because we haven’t moved the needle on many of the big problems.”
Walsh hosts a “Veep” podcast with former co-star Timothy Simons, who plays the White House aide to congressman Jonah Ryan.
“Flamin’ Hot” is currently streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
