The greatest websites are the ones with the simplest idea because life is already complicated as it is and what we need are utilities that will break it down to us in the simplest forms.
Luckily, we have these websites below that try to collect specific but important insights about humanity and puts it in one place where we can go and take a good glimpse of the world’s deepest thoughts, hilarious moments and unforgettable ideas.
And because the best inspiration for fiction is real life, these sites can give you ideas for a short story, a novel, a TV show, a play or a movie.
10. Text from Last Night
What is it?: Texts from Last Night collects millions of embarrassing, rude, and downright idiotic texts from all over the world. Anyone can submit their failure totally anonymously (all you have to include is the area code) and share their deepest regrets and screw ups with the entire world. They can also post texts about how awesome they are or what a great night they’ve just had, but they aren’t half as interesting as the ones where they sleep with their cousins.

- some crying dude holding an empty fifth of burnetts just showed up at our door and asked ‘do i live here?’
9. Short Story Ideas
What is it?: He is just a regular dude who comes up with ideas for stories but does not have the patience to develop each idea as a story. He posts it on his site. Every story is free for the taking. I think you just need to inform him if you are taking his idea, for decency’s sake at least.
Don’t miss this post: Patient in a doctor’s office, getting a test which involves wiring patient to a machine. As the description and conversation continue, it becomes clear that the doctor’s office is in a prison and this is part of the release procedure. The patient has just been acquitted, and the prison wants to make sure he is healthy before they turn him lose. Finally, the doctor tells the patient to hold still, and pushes a button. There is an instant of surprise in the patient’s face as he slumps over dead. At which point we discover that the patient was actually convicted, not acquitted–but doesn’t know it. This is a very merciful society and they decided that although it was necessary to execute criminals, they could at least be spared the horror of knowing that they were about to be executed.

6. Your Sad Story
What is it?:This is a site where you can submit your own sad story. They specialize on romantic sad stories. If you are the emo kind, then this site is a perfect place for you to find like-minded people. If you are not the emo kind, it is still worth a visit, just to give you an idea on how “others” look at things.
Don’t miss this post: My Knight and Shining Armor by Junalie Kitamura. Here is an excerpt – Two years ago I dated a guy who I barely knew. It was Ok for the first few months but whammm! I got pregnant. Wasn’t really sure on what I was going to do coz I was like, just turned 18 back then. And on top of that when I told him about it he left me. I was really upset and confused, at first I wanted to get an abortion but after I realized that I was really fucked up just by even thinking about it. So I decided to keep my baby. I was really sad because I didn’t know what to do, didn’t have a job, didn’t even finish school, how was I to feed my baby when she was born? I kept crying, day and night.
Then one day my phone beeped. I got a text message from one of my ex-boyfriends( had alot by the way ).Then just out of the blue, he asked on a date. I was 5 months pregnant back then. Imagine, me pregnant dating a guy who wasn’t the baby’s dad. LOL.
