Read on and see how some celebrity outfits changed pop culture forever.

10. Converse: Chuck Taylor

There is no other shoe that has successfully truly captured all segments of the market from all social classes. This shoes is so versatile, you could wear it on the red carpet given the right attitude and would still be deemed cool.

This design has been around for a while before the name of Chuck Taylor was put on it. Chuck Taylor was in high school when he started wearing them and continued to wear them all throughout his playing career. He later toured the country teaching basketball.

Several more years later, he convinced Converse that signing his name on it will improve the sales. He proved to be right. According to Converse, over 750 million has been sold by year 2000.

9. Audrey Hepburn: Little Black Dress

The gown that Audrey Hepburn wore in the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s sold for $807,000. It was designed by Hubert de Givenchy. Givenchy has also designed for Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and the Duchess of Windsor but I think we would all agree that the little black dress she wore was his finest design.

The gloves, the fully made up face, the cup of coffee and, of course, the dress is now the quintessential glam look. That is undebatable.

8. MC Hammer: Harlem Pants

I have no idea who thought of making MC Hammer wear the harlem pants in the Can’t Touch This Video. I don’t care. It was, still is, awful.

I have to admit though, man, that was some trend he set. Awful but great.

7. Daisy Duke: Skimpy Shorts

Daidy Duke was played by Catherine Bach, from the American television series The Dukes of Hazzard. Daisy was a confident, sexy, and street smart woman who could very well defend herself when the going gets tough.

Catherine Bach personally designed and sew a lot of the costumes she wore on the show including the red two-piece in the pilot episode and the skimpy shorts she has been known for.

Today, skimpy shorts are an everyday thing. As long as you can pull it off, go ahead and wear it.

6. Madonna: Cone Bra

The Cone Bra first showed up on her 1990 Blond Ambition tour, with the performance of the song Like a virgin. It was re-used in the 1991 film Truth or Dare, based on the 1990 Blond Ambition tour.

Jean-Paul Gaultier designed it. The iconic look is Madonna’s key moments in pop culture – and it was just a redesign of one Gaultier first did in the 1980s. Gaultier also designed the wardrobe for Madonna’s Confessions Tour in 2006.

Many believe that it set the tone for all outrageous costumes forever. It was a signal that nothing is too out there for anyone.
