Top 10 Most Controversial Celebrity Feud With Their Parents

Perhaps the saddest stories aren’t those of the lovers who lost each other but parents who lost their children.

Hollywood is filled with them. What makes it worse is when they decide to use the power of the media to air their dirty laundry. The result is the dizzying word war between parents and children.

Sad really… in part, I have to admit, amusing.

10. Lindsay Lohan and Father

Lindsay Lohan has been open about her “hatred” for her father and partly blames him for the screw ups in her life. Maybe it is with a good reason.

He has shamelessly used her to gain some media for himself. He left his family and has been running around dating younger Hollywood actress. Well, I guess every guy who has been through a divorce deserves to get over it the best way he knows how. However, the physical abuse that the female Lohans got from his hand were the ones that are actually disturbing.

Michael also made Lindsay’s personal life even more public when Michael secretly recorded phone calls with her and her mother and leaked it to the media.

Lindsay has effectively cut ties with his father and has written a song about him.

9. Noel & Liam Gallagher

Noel and Liam Gallagher have been open about the abuse they got from their father’s hands. Noel, however, claims Liam didn’t get any. It was more him and their older brother Paul. He does not have any sort of relationship with his father to date.

From the words of Paul Gallagher: Noel always hated out dad, almost with a vengeance. He was always picking on him. He used to drive our dad mad by just sitting there saying nothing. Our dad would be ranting and raving at Noel to answer some question or telling him to do something, and Noel would just sit there as if our dad wasn’t even in the room. I’d often say to him, ‘Just do it and stop him going on,’ but Noel was fighting his own battle….I felt bad for Noel when he was victim to all the roaring and shouting and different beatings from my dad, even if it was partly provoked by his own obstinacy, but there was always a part of me that was glad it was him on the receiving end this time and not me.

8. Whitney Houston and Father

Whitney Houston’s dad’s company sued Whitney for $100 million. John Houston Entertainment claims the singer owes management fees for helping sort out her legal troubles during her pot bust and helping negotiate her nine-figure record contract.

John Houston Enterprises filed a breach-of-contract suit on Aug. 30 in New Jersey Superior Court.

Skinner: We weren’t her managers per se, at least not in name. But we were in effect. She had no management at that time, and we masterminded the whole situation. All of the parties involved, we selected. And we did whatever it took to get her [financially solvent]. It took her five years to run through her money, and it took us five weeks to get it back. But we didn’t do it for free. In fact, they did it for an agreed-upon 20 percent of the singer’s earnings. For anyone else, it could have been higher. And she was in a crisis. We could have named our price. But she’s his daughter. She would have had no publicists, no accountants, no lawyers, no house. She would be bankrupt.

7. Joe Jackson

Michael first made public his angst against his father in Oprah. He said that his father forced him into labor and took away his childhood. Joe Jackson also, allegedly, used to beat him up whenever he refused to work.

As of late, the Jackson family patriarch has been digging himself deeper and deeper into the depths of darkness ince Michael died. He actually filed court papers asking for Michael Jackson’s estate to help him cover living expenses of $26,000 a month.

6. Macaulay Culkin

As the cute kid who skyrocketed to stardom via the “Home Alone”, Macaulay was commanding $8 million a movie by 1994.

Everything started heading south when his father, Kit, began fighting over control of his personal fortune, which by the mid-’90s was estimated between $17 million and $50 million. With 80% of his earnings tucked away safely until he himself reaches 18, Macaulay decided to divorce his parents effectively cutting off any of their legal rights over his finances.
