This data includes both blogs and websites. The number of blogs hosted by Google (BlogSpot) is about 5.6 % (10,455,103) of total websites.
Internet Usage and World Population Statistics said that there are 1,966,514,816 internet users as of June 30, 2010. If the growth trend continues, everyone on Earth will be an internet user in less than 20 years.
Yet, in the millions of website, there are still very few with unique ideas, websites that can actually make you stop with what you are doing and spend some time on it. Below are the top 10. Naturally, I eliminated the international leaders like Google, Facebook and the likes.
10. Twistori
This is a perfect example of how an existing concept may be taken to create a totally brand new experience. Twistori pulls tweets that include any of the five major keywords: LOVE, HATE, THINK, BELIEVE, FEEL, and WISH. Any tweet that contains any of these keywords will appear on their website. Each entry scrolls up. The thoughts and ideas that they pull are just amazing. It’s like a peek in the soul of the world.
9. The Letters
This site seems to be new but the idea is great. As per their site:
theletters.org is a space where you can post special letters you wrote but never sent, thoughts you keep in your head but couldn’t say, ideas you want to share but don’t know how. It is a place to post the most painful to the most mundane things in your life and read others’.This site is meant to be moderately amusing, averagely touching, and occasionally thought-provoking.

8. Love Gives Me Hope
The site explains that they are tired of hearing about what’s wrong in this world. That’s why they created GivesMeHope.com. GMH is where people share with the world their most hopeful, uplifting moments and allow others to draw strength from their experiences. It’s like Chicken Soup for the Soul – the 21st Century, Twitter-style version.
Because with all of the hurt and suffering in the world, who couldn’t use a few more reasons to hope each day?
