Developed starting in 1965 with the first playable guitar number 006 built by Gerry Gardner and introduced as the ‘Balladeer’ in February, 1966, Ovations reached the height of their popularity in the 1980s, where they were more often than not seen during live performances by touring artists if acoustic guitars were being played. Ovation guitars’ synthetic bowl and early use (1971) of preamps, onboard equalization and piezo pickups were particularly attractive to live acoustic musicians who constantly battled feedback problems from the high volumes needed in live venues.
Since the 1980s they have remained popular with studio musicians, but are less frequently seen on stage.

No PRS? What gives?
Well I’ve been teaching and piylang for a long time and this is the acoustic guitar I’ve always recommended. It’s tough and doesn’t cost so much you’ll get scared to taking it anywhere to play. It’s nicely built so it will be fairly easy to play. Sometime soon you’ll need to get some new strings so get them nice a light so they are easier to play go for 11 s on the 1st string you’ll see this marked up on the string pack when you’re buying these will be marked light’ or super light’ they make it easier to press the strings down when learning. Also a nice light pick (something like .43 mm) will ensure you strum and pick without digging in. You can go to a thicker plectrum (.71mm medium) later when you can play better. And read the instructions on the tuner pack these cheaper tuners are a bugger to use well on the first tuning but once in tune, they are easy to keep in tune. Trust me, this is the acoustic to learn on a well known manufacturer well constructed (they make hundreds of thousands of these to sell them all over the World) and a nice piylang action. Put some heavier bluegrass strings on it once you can play well, like the D’Addario EJ19 s, and you’ve got a great guitar for a party or the beach; the knock-about guitar to compliment the expensive one you’ll get sometime in the future. Get a Steve Kaufman or Russ Barenberg beginners book or DVD on piylang bluegrass to get you started – that way you’ll have some intersting stuff to play and avoid books with Twinkle Twinkle or Jingle Bells. Once you can play a few chords and pick out a melody, you can move on .Have a listen to Tony Rice if you want to hear what that style is like played very well. Don’t worry that all this stuff will turn you into a bluegrass player these books will get you piylang anything. It’s good stuff to get started on and you’ll be piylang proper songs that aren’t an embarrassment. You’ll learn all the chords and how to play melodies on the top strings and the bass strings and often a mix of both. After learning these basics you can go on to any style of piylang.
BS!!
Gibson at five is a load! First of all you put them behind epiphone. epiphone is the economy version of gibson, i cant think of a single person who says cheap is better than classy when push comes to shove. You also put Gibson behind Ibanez, WTF! when was the last time you heard of an ibanez SG or LP? never. Ibanez? cost effective yes but not Gibson quality. Plus you spelled it wrong. Ibanez not Ibanes. Finally fender vs gibson. These two brands are both incredibly well known and respeced. But Fender gives you a factory product… no varietion. You buy a strat. You get the same strat as the nieghbor guy who also bought a strat, plus thats pretty much all they have. Strats. Yes people play teles and other jazz models but the average shmuck knows not. Gibson gives you a variety of models and alothough SG and LP are the most common thats the tip of the iceberg. And almost every one of thier guitars is unique. You can find (given time and effort), something for everyone from gibson. Fender is just for beginers who dont wanna research. So if you want something chep and pretty good. Ibanez. If you want prestiege and cheap, epiphone. if you want a factory product thatll sound ok and be recognizable, by all means go for fender. But if you want cost effective, playable, fun, beautiful, and great sounding guitar for any genere. move gibson out of five and into 1!
I dont think this is right. Obviously made from a person who’s never explored guitar brands or knows anything about guitars. There are also tons of asian/european brands which are better and why would you put epiphone infront of Gibson. Gibson is the good version of epiphone.. Unless your talking about price.
