1. Failure

Kobe failed many times, is still failing, and will most likely continue to fail many times more. Back when he was a rookie, May 12, 1997, it was most evident. They were going up against a team that had two of the best players we have ever witnessed – John Stockton and Karl Malone – Kobe fired three air balls in the final minutes.

It was Kobe’s defining moment. Of all the superstars on the court, the noobie was the one who wanted it the most. It was only Kobe who had the heart and the balls to fail. It is the same heart and balls that continue to carry him through to this day – for better or for worse.
