There is no greater time to be a geek in America than today. This is their moment, their era, their generation!
It may be credited to years and many attempts to paint a different picture of geeks and, more importantly, the emergence to popularity of the many geeks that proved to be owning the world. You have owners of google, facebook, twitter, wordpress, deviant art, to name a few that are multi millionaires.
These are true blue geeks and if you come and think about it, they have to power to know – in scaringly great detail – every person in the world who logs on. From their names, down to their porn collection.
Now, that is truly the closes we will ever get to a superpower.
10. Adam and Jamie of MythBusters
Played by: Adam and Jamie
What Makes Him Rock: They have the worst sense of humor in the history of civilization, they have the worst fashion taste, they are old and balding, they are nerds to the deepest of their bones and they are completely authentic.
That’s why they are cool. Even before they show, Adam and Jamie have been working as special effects guru in Hollywood. Experimenting how to blow up stuff have always been their cup of tea so when you see them jumping for joy after doing what they do on Mythbusters, you feel their sincerity and honesty.
You don’t get any more geek than that.
9. Hiro Nakamura of Heroes
Played by: Masi Oka
What Makes Him Rock: Hiro is the complete package. The the geek’s geek, the nerd’s nerd. He was the most pathetically ordinary dude in Japan believing he has superpowers.
I see myself in him, except his belief came true. Whereas I… am still writing this blog.
8. Chuck Bartowski of Chuck
Played by: Zachary Levi
What Makes Him Rock: When your brain can literally download, storing and process information, you become a… GOD NERD.
7. Larry Fleinhardt of Numb3rs
Played by: Peter MacNicol
What Makes Him Rock: I think he is the best nerd-role actor of all time, hmmm? His stint on Ally McBeal was so convincing I can’t see him in any other role. Then he becames Cal Tech Larry and took awkwardness beyond belief. I never thought being awkward could be so cool.
6. Steve Urkel of Family Matters
Played by:
What Makes Him/Her Rock: Steve He was the guy everyone loved to hate. Another example of a geek in love with a girl much “cooler,” but he used his genius to create an alter ego that is much smoother than he was. Now, that’s applied science.

house is the best choice for no 1. I would have also included Dexter Morgan, because in his day-to-day life, he is a geek, blood analyst working for the police. The other activities make him cool, though lol
I was surprise with the number #1 choice because he actually didn’t enter my mind going into the list… but… you are actually right.
I think one of the biggest broplems is that it’s incredibly hard to have an honest discussion. No one wants to admit that there is at least a little truth to all sides of this issue. There are girls that use their gender to pander to male geeks and there are amazing ladies that don’t pander despite what some spiteful little rats think.I think we also need to look at the behavior of both sides and ask ourselves if it truly helps or hinders. I often wonder why so many female geeks feel the need to identify as girl geeks. While it’s totally unfair, this does invite some of the unwanted attention that some female geeks receive. I never really see guys referring to themselves as guy geeks. I personally don’t think that most male geeks identify their gender as part of their geekhood and this growing segment of the community that does upsets the status quo which some people just don’t know how to deal with. I’m in no way saying that this is the girl geek’s fault, just simply pointing out one of the triggers that I believe flips that switch in less male geek’s heads. It’s less a problem with geeks who are proud of their gender and more an issue with people that don’t know how to deal with this mostly foreign concept. To me a geek is just a geek is just a geek. If I follow someone on twitter it’s because they’re interesting and have interesting things to say. It’s just unfortunate that people that people can’t be geeks in the way they want to be without being put under a microscope
Where is Sam Winchester? He uses his intelligence and mad research skills to hunt monters. What could possibly be cooler than that? Also, he went to Stanford University on a full scholarship and is quite sexy.
