I don’ think there will ever be a song cover that will be better than the original but there are some good enough to be acknowledge as a respectful tribute.
There are some covers that was not even released as a single but I sure hope someday they will.
This is part 1.
10. Suspicious Minds
Original by: Elvis Presley
Covered by: Gavin Rossdale
One of those that was never really released formally. With how he looks, I am guessing he did this for one of those promo interviews.
9. Creep
Original by: Radiohead
Covered by: The Pretenders
You can just feel the pain in her voice.
8. Straight Up
Original by: Paula Abdul
Covered by: Andrew Garcia
One of the many songs that was given a great interpretation. Before this, I thought the David Cook cover of Mariah Carey’s song was good but this one… man. Genius.
7. Smooth Criminal
Original by: Michael Jackson
Covered by: Alien Ant Farm
You can feel the entire band having fun doing the cover. I’m sure the king of pop liked it.
6. Mad World
Original by: Tears for Fears
Covered by: Gary Jules
I’m sorry to the Adam Lambert fans out there. He either ripped off this version or he hit jackpot by coming up with the exact same version. Regardless, Gary Jules’ came years before.
