Observation 1: The old movies usually keep the director of the original film for the sequel. The contemporary ones usually change directors.
Observation 2: It’s not true that sequels are never better than the original, Dark Knight was a hundred times better than all the ones before it. It’s rare but it happens.
Observation 3: One sure way to make the sequel better is if you add a cerebral layer to the story, the way The Dark Knight did it.
Note: Below are the best movie sequels. I am not saying they are better than the original (except The Dark Knight), I am only saying of all the sequels done, these are the best ones.
