They are the greatest mind fuckers the movie industry has ever produced. They twisted and turned our brain cells so bad, we still can’t get over it to this day.

If anyone is this intelligent in real life, we are all so doomed.

I have to admit, though, I envy them just a tiny bit… Okay, I envy them a lot.

10. The Narrator: The Fight Club


Played by: Edward Norton

The manipulated: Tyler Durden played by Brad Pitt

How did he do it: He anticipated what his sane version will say once he figures out what he is up to. If you watched the movie, that statement will make sense. If you have not, get up and watch it.



9. John Milton: The Devil s Advocate


Played by: Al Pacino

The manipulated: Kevin Lomax played by Keanu Reeves

How did he do it: As his character said, “Vanity is my favorite sin.” Milton lured Lomax in the world of ego trip which includes money and power.



8. John Doe: Se7en


Played by: Kevin Spacey

The manipulated: Detective David Mills played by Brad Pitt

How did he do it: After murdering people in such ways as to symbolize the sins of gluttony, pride, lust, greed, and sloth, he sent Mills the head of his wife. If Mills kills Doe, he would have been guilty of wrath – the completion of the seven deadly sins. Mills shoots Doe.



7. Frank Costello: The Departed


Played by: Jack Nicholson

The manipulated: Billy Costigan played by Matt Damon and the whole police force.

How did he do it: Young undercover cop Billy Costigan needs to infiltrate the mob syndicate run by Costello. While Billy quickly gains Costello’s confidence, Colin Sullivan, a hardened young criminal who has infiltrated the state police as an informer for the syndicate, is rising to a position of power in the Special Investigation Unit. Each man becomes deeply consumed by his double life, gathering information about the plans and counter-plans of the operations he has penetrated. But when it becomes clear to both the mob and the police that there’s a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin are suddenly in danger of being caught and exposed to the enemy-and each must race to uncover the identity of the other man in time to save himself. The manipulated: Everyone except the people in his team

How did he do it: Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), the owner of the three casinos, confronts each member of the team in turn, demanding the team return his money, with interest. The thought of doing a heist outside of the US. They targeted the queen’s crown but they have competition. They stole the crown days in ahead of the public viewing but continued on with the public heist just to fool everyone.
