Her entrance to the world clearly demonstrated how fiercely independent Madonna is. She went against almost every rule of thumb on women. She didn’t care about religion, about conventions or about what other people will say about her dance, body, and men she goes out with. She didn’t give a damn then, she doesn’t give a fuck now.

9. Kathryn Bigelow

Among the top working female directors in film today, Kathryn Bigelow stands apart. Unlike Nancy Meyers, Catherine Hardwicke or even Sofia Coppola, Bigelow made her name working in genres dominated by male filmmakers. With films like Point Break, she has stood toe-to-toe with John McTiernan, Richard Donner and Renny Harlin — journeyman directors who have made action pictures their bread and butter.

In 2009, Bigelow rose to the top of the industry when she won the best directing Oscar for The Hurt Locker. In fact, she made history that year by becoming the first woman to win an Oscar for directing, as well as the Directors Guild of America award and the BAFTA.

Known to the world as the first female President of the Philippines, one of Time’s Most Powerful Woman of the decade, and widow of a national hero.

She became the president after her husband, the real politician, was assassinated. It ignited a revolution that put her in the seat of power. During her time, nine coup de etat attempts were made to try and get her out of her seat and she won them all. She’s the only President to have never been accused of corruption and is loved even by the leftist community.

To think she was “just a housewife” (that’s the words of the President/Dictator she succeeded). That’s a bitchslap to everyone who thinks housewives are “just” housewives.
