  4. It all goes back to Last Poets and Gil Scott-Heron. By the gaping holes in many of your other lists, I’ll assume you’ve never heard of either.

  5. Are you serious?! The Term “Hip Hop” in describing a genre of music has only been around for only around 10 years!

    These Groups were “Rap Groups” before the birth of “Hip Hop” as we know it.
    In the eighties…if you Rapped….you were a rap group.
